ANIMALS FEEL THE BENEFIT OF BINGO BONANZA
20/03/2007The unnamed 58-year-old from Edinburgh recently won more than £20,000 playing bingo and intends to give some of that money to her favourite animal charity.
Despite being a relative newcomer to the game having only been playing for eight months, the winner landed the National Bingo Afternoon Delight Game prize of £20,000, as well as the regional prize of £515 and a house prize of £40.
The lucky winner told the Gala Bingo website: "I couldn't believe it when I won. I thought somebody would jump out from Candid Camera and tell me it was all a joke!
"I only started playing bingo for something to do and I'm certainly glad I did."
One of the winner's friends will be joining her on holiday to celebrate the big win, with a trip to Rome one of the Edinburgh resident's possible choices of destination.
Gala Bingo says that it pays out £28 million in prizes every week, depending on ticket sales.
