17/10/2007The £20,000 Afternoon Delight bingo jackpot went to a 75-year-old woman from Colne in recent weeks, the game's operating body reveals.
She plays uk bingo at the Gala Bingo club in Centenary Way, Burnley, two to three times each week.
And the win adds to a previous £1,000 bingo prize secured at the same venue - although that was "many years ago", the winner asserted.
"I was flabbergasted when I was told how much I had won," the lucky punter told National Bingo.
"I never expected this - it's very nice of course."
The win was secured in 44 calls as she completed her full house in fewer numbers than anyone else in the country.
Members of the club may be hoping in the run-up to Christmas to repeat last year's festive success, which saw one local scoop a £53,000 jackpot on December 28th.
