BINGO WIN TO REMAIN A SECRET
08/01/2008The £20,000 UK bingo jackpot was scooped by a 74-year-old Morecambe woman on New Year's Eve, National Bingo reports.
But while celebrating the start of a new year, the lucky punter is yet to begin rejoicing over the win.
Her delay in doing so is all part of a ploy to keep her family in the dark, she tells the game's operating body.
She adds: "I just can't get over it at the moment so I can't decide definitely what I'll do with the money but it's a very nice new year present."
According to National Bingo, the announcement is to be made once she has the cheque in her hand to show to her relatives.
The win came at the Morecambe Gala Bingo club, which has previously given away more than £225,000 in UK bingo jackpots, according to National Bingo figures.
