CRUISE PLANS FOR UK BINGO WINNER
15/01/2008

Having scooped £45,000 on the national game, many people might be tempted to treat themselves.

But one 59-year-old Sheffield woman is treating her mum instead, with a cruise planned as one way in which to spend her winnings.

She tells National Bingo: "I was very shocked when they told me how much I had won and it still hasn't really sunk in yet."

With the cruise yet to come, she could be hoping to avoid that sinking feeling for a little longer.

Her win came in 42 calls at the Gala Bingo club in Halifax Road - and is not the first to be claimed in a Sheffield venue.

The city's Gala Bingo and Mecca Bingo halls have seen a number of UK bingo jackpot winners over the past few years.

From July 2004 to October 2006, this resulted in more than £986,000 going to players in the city's bingo halls.
