TOP TEN EXPANDS BINGO BUSINESS

One of the country's leading bingo operators, Top Ten Holdings, has snapped up Apollo Bingo for £11.1 million.

Top Ten is the third largest bingo business in the UK, behind the leading duo of Mecca and Gala, and will be strengthened by the acquisition of Apollo, which owns three bingo clubs situated in Blackpool, Rhyl and Caernarfon.

The company, situated in St Albans, takes its portfolio of bingo halls to 41, an impressive expansion from the 11 clubs it started with back in 2002.

It can now boast a total of three million bingo players passing through its doors each year.

But plans to carry on growing will not end with the purchase of Apollo, as Top Ten's chairman, Sir Aubrey Brocklebank, announced the business would still be keeping an eye open for other bingo opportunities.
