Betting and gaming firm Gala has acquired the TV channel Avago, from YooMedia, in a deal that is thought to be worth in the region of five to eight million pounds.
The interactive gaming channel will now be turned into Gala TV and is to offer bingo to viewers, who will be able to play the game using that magic red button on their remote control, website TMCnet reports.
By moving into TV, the game of bingo is expanding the success it has enjoyed online recently, as well as in bingo halls up and down the country.
Chief executive of Gala Group, Neil Goulden, said: "We are delighted to be entering the dynamic world of interactive television and this project will form a key part of Gala's expanding multimedia strategy.
"Gala TV will allow additional opportunities for our existing registered membership of over seven million customers to access Gala's products and services."
The channel is currently broadcast on Sky Digital, channel 181. It will also be launched later this year on NTL.
