ENGLISH FLOCK TO BINGO SCOTLAND
09/01/2006

English players are racking up the prizes in Scotland's first Scots-dedicated online bingo site.

Although a number of internet bingo sites now compete for prize-loving customers, it seems that the English can't get enough of the Scottish site and have been playing it to the reward of £10,000 in winnings a day.

Some 5,000 players have shared almost £500,000 since the website's launch in October and its organisers estimate that almost half of the winners reside south of the border.

"Although Scots are still in the majority, we are amazed at how much English players love Bingo Scotland. We paid out over £100,000 between Christmas and New Year and our most recent big winner who won a massive £4,000 progressive jackpot was from Cambridge!," said a spokesman from www.bingoscotland.com.

The site's owners cannot fully understand why the Scots-dedicated site has exerted such a big pull southwards, but believe that the traditional Scottish hospitality might have something to do with it.

"I guess it's the Scottish welcome and friendliness plus the fact that unlike other bingo sites there are no evil slot machines or other casino gambling games. Its purely bingo and a strong community that is making it one of the UK's top online bingo destinations," the spokesman concluded.

The online bingo site also boasts the soothing vocal talents of Edinburgh-based Peter Russell, named 2004 Scottish Bingo Caller of the Year.

Additionally, players can choose between three virtual bingo halls, giving them greater flexibility over whom they play with.

The stakes are also attractive to online bingo novices, starting at ten pence and rising to one pound.
