Employees at the local Gala Bingo took the innovative step of staging a festive pantomime in order to raise money for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
The bingo staff treading the boards did such a great job for their bingo-playing audience that they raised £500.
They have now raised an impressive £2,000 but do not plan to stop there. A charity sky dive and 10km road race are in the pipeline for 2006 to make sure there is never a dull moment for this part of the bingo world.
Simon Athey, fundraiser for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, said: "We want to say a huge thank you to Gala Bingo for all their support. It's fantastic that they keep on finding such innovative ways of raising money."
