A lady from Sandy, near Bedford, was celebrating at the Flutters bingo hall in Biggleswade last week after hitting the bingo jackpot.

Lesley Jenkinson, 52, won £200,000 and immediately decided to split her massive haul with her bingo-playing friend with whom she shares her winnings.

That still leaves Lesley, who reached a full house after just 41 numbers, with a sizeable kitty as she decides what to do with her money.

The manager at Flutters bingo hall, Martin Redmond, said that the whole bingo hall was in a state of pandemonium when the massive jackpot win was confirmed.

He said: "You could feel the atmosphere, the whole way through there was a big buzz.

"When the result eventually came out I stopped in the middle of another game and said 'let's find out'. The place just erupted."
