BIG BINGO WIN FOR SWINDON NAN
14/02/2006A grandmother from Swindon was in a state of shock a fortnight ago after winning more than £105,000 at her local bingo hall.
The 62-year-old was stunned by her good fortune at the Greenbridge Retail Park Gala Club, after cruising to a full house in just 36 numbers.
And her family want her to do more cruising soon, the Gala Bingo website reports.
"My family keep telling me I have to spend the money on myself, that I have worked hard all my life and I deserve it," she said.
"They want me to go on a cruise and I shall certainly have a holiday. My daughter is also arranging a big family party for me so we can all celebrate together."
If she has any money left over, then she might want to take the advice of her 18-year-old grandson, who thinks she should spend her winnings on a Ferrari.
Despite playing bingo twice a week since becoming a Gala member in 1997, the grandmother had never won more than £1,000.
