LUCKY LUTON LADY LANDS JACKPOT

The win for the Luton lady, who did not wish to be named, could not have been any more timely, coming less than a week after her 80th birthday, Bedford Today reports.

Despite her advancing years, the lady took the incredible news that she won more than £200,000 on the National Bingo Game in her stride.

Customer services manager Alan Bierman said: "She was fine after we announced how much she had won and appeared very calm. The lady she was with, who may have been her daughter, was very shocked though!"

And now Mr Bierman expects there will be even more people hoping to get their hands on some bingo money.

"After we had a big Sunday night winner the last time, we almost reached our capacity of 1,000 customers the following week, instead of our usual 750 or so. I expect the same will happen again," he said.
