A new study has revealed that the people who play online bingo aren't necessarily the same as those who make the trip to their local bingo hall.
Online bingo site Bingohall.com looked at the profiles of thousands of online bingo players to determine whether there was any difference in the bingo-playing demographic.
Bingohall.com's vice president of marketing, Scott Logan, revealed that the majority of bingo players enjoying the game online and offline were women, but that online players were much younger, at an average age of 35.
"Typically, if you walk into any offline bingo hall, you're going to find table after table of retired ladies sweating on the next number out. We've found this just isn't the case when it comes to online players," Mr Logan said.
He added that the peak time for online bingo was in the early evening, when people had got back home from work "in an attempt to relax and enjoy the evening with their online bingo friends".
