BINGO HALL OPERATOR LEISURAMA ACQUIRED BY TALARIUS
08/03/2006

Talarius, which operates the Cyberslotz online gaming site, has bought Leisurama in a deal worth £12 million.

Leisurama has been operating since 1992 and owns a series of bingo halls across the north of England.

The bingo hall portfolio that Talarius has acquired will compliment its main Quicksilver offering of adult gaming centres.

Nick Harding, chief executive of Talarius, said: "We are delighted to complete this strategically important acquisition. This is a business with which we are very familiar. We know the management team well and are confident that the business will be integrated seamlessly."

He added: "Our team has today completed its fourth major acquisition within a year since listing [on AIM]. This takes the total number of adult gaming centres in our estate to 183 and reinforces our market leadership."

Over the course of 2005, Leisurama generated sales of £4.7 million with an operating profit of £1.7 million.
