Parents who are partial to a game of bingo have been banned from playing one of their favourite activities to make sure that their son goes to school.
The couple, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are being held responsible for the fact that their son did not go to school once between September and November, the Daily Record reports.
Magistrates in Neath, south Wales, heard that the parents had been staying in bed rather than making sure their son went to school.
As a result, the mum and dad have been given electronic tags to ensure that they do not leave their home between 19:00 GMT and 07:00 GMT every day for the next three months.
By wearing the tags to deter them from going out, it means they will have to miss out on nights spent at the bingo.
Not all is lost though – they could just as easily enjoy a game of online bingo at home instead, making sure at the same time that their son isn't skipping school.
