MAN WALKERS AWAY WITH £103,000

A man from Mansfield made his weekly trip to the Walkers Club bingo hall at the weekend – and came away with the jackpot.

The 57-year-old scooped a massive £103,000 from his local bingo hall, which will prove quite a tonic for someone who has suffered his fair share of bad luck in recent years.

Speaking to the National Bingo Game website, he explained how he has been unable to work due to ill health for three years.

"I am overjoyed; this is a real life-saver for me. It will really help us. The money is coming to a good home; it won't get squandered."

The former lorry driver has battled back from a heart by-pass operation and only started playing bingo when he could no longer work.

Thinking about how he might spend his winnings, he said: "We have been nowhere except to bingo or even had a holiday. This win has taken the stress off me; it's a real weight off my mind."
