19/04/2006Margaret Scott, a 75-year-old from Drongan, Ayrshire, proved that patience is a virtue, after playing the bingo competition in the paper every day since it started.
Now she is celebrating a huge jackpot win, along with an extended family that includes five children, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild, the paper reports.
She said: "I can't believe it, I feel like I am living in a dream and haven't woken up yet. I was shaking like a leaf when I found out I'd won and had to have a wee sit down to compose myself.
"I've never won anything before in my entire life and it's still sinking in. I have entered quite a few competitions in the paper over the years without any luck."
With one of her daughters now living in Spain, she can celebrate with her family as well as treating herself to a holiday at the same time.
