BINGO GRAN KEEPS FEET ON THE GROUND
05/05/2006

The 73-year-old, who did not wish to be named, will have to make the money go a long way as she has six children, 11 grandchildren and one great grandson to share the money with, Herts & Essex News Online reports.

Her jackpot could have been twice the size if she hadn't had to split the National Bingo Game money with another player who reached a full house at the same time.

But her welcome windfall will not mean that she will be frittering away her winnings.

She said: "It is a nice win and it gives me pleasure to think I can help my family. I don't like boats so I won't be going on a cruise and I have never been abroad because I don't think I would like flying."

Instead, the Cheshunt lady intends to "stick to Devon and Cornwall" as well as taking a two-week break to Norfolk with her youngest daughter.
