BERT LOVES BINGO CALLING BUZZ
31/07/2006Bert Sale goes to the Allesley Hall Nursing Home every week to call out the numbers for the residents' bingo game, website icCoventry reports.
Even though he is probably older than a lot of the people in the home themselves, he loves his job and wouldn't give it up for the world.
Bingo Bert, as he is referred to, told the website: "It's brilliant. I love coming in here and I like the place and I think I'm making a contribution at my time of life, which seems to go well with everyone here."
Two residents who can claim to have the edge on Bert when it comes to age are Ann Shaw and Trudie Bloor, both 94 years old and both big fans of Bert.
"We are all fond of Bert. We always win a prize every week so everyone wins something and Bert always reads the numbers out slowly and clearly - he's very good," said Ann.
