The group's earnings before tax stood at £40.7 million, which was down from the £41.9 million recorded in 2005.
Even though the bingo arm is in a strong position in its market, it is believed that the smoking ban in Scotland has had a detrimental impact on bingo halls north of the border and their operation.
Ian Burke, chief executive of the firm, commented: "Mecca Bingo has held revenue steady but operating profit remains under pressure from rising business costs."
The problem encountered by bingo halls where a smoking ban is enforced is that smokers will go outside for a cigarette, rather than spending more time and money on some of the games available inside.
The ban has also led to many players leaving bingo halls altogether and opting for online bingo instead.
