Wisbech Town play their home matches at Lerowe Road, but are now looking to move to a new home in Lynn Road, meaning the weekly bingo game that normally takes place at the club will have to move, the Wisbech Standard reports.
Club officials and the bingo organisers tried to come to some sort of arrangement, but financial implications meant that no solution was found to please both parties.
Mandy Boughen, who runs the bingo games, told the paper: "It is no longer viable to have it there. After 40 years why should they start charging now?"
Nevertheless, the club chairman John Petch sounded disappointed: "We obviously regret that the bingo club has decided to move on after so many years."
As a result, the group of 30 or so bingo players have decided to make the move to the Bell pub where they will play instead – although if this doesn't work out for them, they could always try a spot of online bingo instead.
