COPPERS CAUGHT OUT DURING BINGO-CALLING
26/09/2006But it wasn't because there was any trouble at the Gala Bingo club in Banbury, Oxon, the Sunday Mirror reports.
Instead, the hall's sound system had managed to pick up the radio frequency of the local constabulary and the thoughts of two gossiping coppers were broadcast for all bingo players to hear.
The voices of the law were heard to say "She's a bit minging" and "She should give up the fags. She could be quite attractive if she made the effort".
It's not known if the officers were talking about two fat ladies, but most of the regulars could see the funny side of it.
One of them told the paper: "The bingo caller was shouting out numbers and suddenly these voices came over the tannoy. It sounded like they were talking about a passer-by or a colleague. It certainly livened up the evening!"
But not everyone was amused, as another player felt that the police should "have better things to do" than indulging in idle chit chat.
