TON-UP TREAT FOR BINGO FAN
10/10/2006Bridie Taaffe has never made a secret of her love of bingo, having been a member at her local club for 33 years.
So what better way for the club to spoil the birthday girl than to reward her with honourary membership, the Limerick Post reports.
A shining beacon of the community, Bridie has lived in the same house she was born in and lives life to the full, including making sure she never misses playing her favourite game.
"I love bingo and I've been playing for as long as I can remember. I never miss it and I go to the local club every Thursday night," she told the paper.
"They made a lovely presentation to me at my bingo club and at the weekend, we had a barbecue and a special mass."
The great-grandmother of 11 also plans to give a cheque that she received to charity.
