After getting their hands on the cash, they put the notes in a shopping trolley but some careless control saw the trolley tip over in the car park, with thousands of pounds being lost in the process.
Determined to escape with what little they still had, the three robbers hijacked a car.
Police explained to the paper: "They hauled the woman driver out and threw her to the ground but got away with just £2,000."
