BINGO HALLS IN FRAUD FOCUS
01/11/2006

A series of television adverts and billboard posters will depict the main message of the campaign, which is No Ifs, No Buts, in an attempt to reduce the amount of money lost to the crime.

And, according to the Glasgow Evening Times, special attention will be paid to bingo halls, as these are a popular hideaway for fraudsters to while away their time and other people's money.

Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, John Hutton, commented: "The public are fed up with benefit thieves stealing money intended for society's most vulnerable. There are no excuses for taking money that isn't yours."

Other focal points for the clampdown include pubs and betting shops, as the DWP aims to reduce the huge number of cases of benefit fraud.
