GETMINTED BINGO ON THE HIGH STREET

Much of the focus of this offline campaign will be on GetMinted Bingo, and part of the plan is to place posters strategically outside major land-based bingo halls like Mecca Bingo and Gala Bingo.

 

For the GetMinted Poker product advertising campaign GetMinted have employed footballer come actor Vinnnie Jones to be the face of the campaign and the movie style posters will be placed in BT phone boxes.

 

This campaign is at best quite clever and at worst extremely naive. First, as far as bingo is concerned, all research seems to suggest that the profile of the land-based UK bingo player is very different from that of an online bingo player. There seems to be little evidence of converting bingo players from offline bingo halls to online bingo halls but rather an opening up of a whole new group of bingo players. So, it might be that placing posters outside land-based bingo halls will be hitting the wrong targets.

 

And second, as far as the poker campaign is concerned, we can't actually remember when we last laid eyes on a phone box, let alone noticed what posters might be hanging inside. In this mobile phoned world, how sensible can it be to use phone boxes as medium to gather players to a pastime that involved internet connectivity and even savvy??
