NEW BINGO HALL CAUSING A STIR
07/11/2006While the plans were expected to be greeted with a warmer reception than the one given to the initial idea of a lap dancing club, it would seem that the same disappointment and concern has been voiced.
"There's too many pubs and clubs and they are all occupying potential retail spaces," said Tony Shields, Conservative councillor for Sutton South, to the Sutton Guardian.
"I've got various concerns about it. Although it's less sensational than a lap dancing club, I still think it's difficult to really say it's the right place for a bingo hall."
The site is a former Iceland store, with the council suggesting that locations such as this are ones that the likes of bingo halls are "best suited" to.
With so much disruption, perhaps Sutton residents know that the best place to play bingo is online!
