The study, by Research and Markets, will investigate the implications for the sector and look at how smoking bans have worked in other countries.
Smoking will be banned in all enclosed public places, including bingo halls, from the summer of 2007, bringing England into line with the rest of the UK.
Health campaigners have welcomed the move, although some in the leisure industry have expressed concern that the ban could have a negative impact on business.
The Research and Markets report will look at what bingo halls and other leisure industry venues can do to offset any negative impacts brought about by the legislation and will include examples of how overseas companies have handled similar bans.
It will bring together opinion and analysis from commentators across the leisure industry in order to help bingo operators and others prepare for the rule change.
No matter what the outcome of the research is though, online bingo in the UK is expected to continue to blossom as the enjoyable and convenient alternative to the land-based version.
