According to Fife Today, the Gunners Club in Kirkcaldy, which has been at the heart of the town's social life for more than 60 years, could be forced to shut down within a year.
The venue is used for locals to enjoy a game of bingo, but its secretary, Jim Paul, told the paper that the smoking ban has had a devastating effect on bingo business.
"The ban has really affected us. It's bad enough at the moment but is bound to get worse as the weather gets colder," Mr Paul said.
"This will be my 18th year as secretary and it breaks my heart to think we could have to close down."
As a result, a Smoking Action Group has been set up to petition the Scottish Executive for ventilated smoking rooms to be installed in bingo clubs.
Mike Lowe, operations manager at Kirkcaldy's Premier Bingo, told Fife Today: "The Scottish Parliament introduced the ban, which we supported, but it is up to Gordon Brown to help his constituents and the UK's bingo players retain their clubs through giving us this much needed support."
