Back in February the bingo player, who frequented Mecca Bingo in Stevenage was banned for shouting his catchphrase 'Wakey wakey!' so loudly that it frightened some of this bingo hall's elderly patrons.
John Mills, age 57, was aggrieved so what did he do? He took his case straight to UK TV show 'People's Court' and justice was served when a public phone-vote overturned his ban. He won 64% of the public vote, although no one from Stevenage Mecca Bingo would appear as defence. He was awarded £300 by the judge but ordered to pay costs of £100 for having such a loud shout and the complainant was given a pair for £25 industrial ear defenders... and John is safely back playing bingo at Mecca Bingo in Stevenage.
