BURNING IT UP AT BINGO
18/12/2006The Mecca Bingo and Social Club, situated on Carmarthen Road, Swansea, was hosting a game for more than 30 players when the alarm was sounded, website This is Wales reports.
Three fire engines arrived to deal with the fire and ensured that no structural damage had been caused to the building.
Club manager Richard Burke-Lloyd told the website: "We had a small electrical fire on the sign outside the front door.
"We had about 35 customers inside and we automatically evacuated the building."
The incident might have come as quite a shock to those bingo players looking for some simple enjoyment from their favourite numbers game.
Next time, they could try a spot of online bingo instead – just as much excitement but without the smoke and fire!
