EXETER EXCITEMENT AT BINGO WIN
19/12/2006Jane Stevens, a 49-year-old from Wonford, reached a full house in 39 numbers while playing at Mecca Bingo and earned herself £100,000 in the process, Exeter's Express & Echo reports.
She told the paper: "I was shaking like a leaf as I have never won anything like that before and really couldn't believe it.
"I had only gone on the off-chance as I had tickets and ended up winning the big one. It hasn't really sunk in yet and probably won't until I get the cheque in two weeks."
Not only does she plan to pay off her mortgage, but she intends to give her house to her son and get herself a new one – not a bad way to kick off the new year.
But she won't be completely living in the lap of luxury, as she wants to carry on with her job at the city centre's Co-op store.
