VEGAS HAS NOTHING ON DEVON BINGO
27/12/2006Jane Horsfield, Kim Kurpyta and Heather Martin were feeling down on their luck after they returned from a £700 trip to Vegas with no winnings.
But just three weeks after coming back from 'Sin City', the three won an amazing joint total of £300,000 at their local bingo hall in Devon.
Mrs Martin won £91,000 with a full house and split her winnings with her friend of 30 years' standing, Mrs Kurpyta.
A few days later, Mrs Horsfield won the £201,300 national prize.
Mrs Horsfield told This Is Devon: "It's incredible to think we saved up for nine months for Las Vegas and won nothing - then we come back and win £300,000 between us in the space of three days."
"When we got back, we were all thinking about how we were going to have enough for Christmas presents - when we suddenly had this huge win," grinned Mrs Kurpyta.
Mrs Martin chimed in to tell reporters the lucky threesome were planning "another trip to Las Vegas" – this time, to play for bigger stakes.
