On July 1st, the smoking ban will come into effect for all public places in England, something one online bingo website thinks will be to the benefit of anyone who loves the internet version of the popular game.
"This will inevitably lead to more people joining online bingo websites as they allow members to play in the comfort of their own home," said Gavin Blowman, head of marketing at Jackpotty.com.
"Many players also prefer this because there are fewer restrictions - there are no closing times and certainly no dress code!"
One such online bingo player spoke of how the internet-based version of the game had enabled her to meet "loads of new friends".
In Scotland, where a smoking ban has been in place for a number of months, prize revenue has even dropped at bingo halls as a result of a drop in numbers.
