Virgin's multi-player bingo offering (they have been up and running with single-player, bingo keno games for months) will have a variety of card prices, fixed and progressive jackpots and will run the UK style 90-ball bingo game.
Branson believes that 90-ball bingo is what UK online bingo players want, as opposed to the 75-ball bingo game that many other UK £ sites offer. Research has shown that many UK online bingo players, however, find the 90-ball game a little slow moving and prefer the pace of a 75-ball bingo game. Still, it is good to have the variety out there.
Now, we will be interested to see how Virgin multi-player bingo pans out. Perhaps unusually for the independently minded Virgin products, their multi-player bingo game will be part of the Parlay network and sit along side Yahoo! bingo and Gala Bingo. We might find a situation, therefore, where a bingo player who entered via Gala bingo and seeing Gala branding is playing with a bingo player who is viewing a Virgin interface. We wonder how this will impact on the potential for an online bingo community and wait to see if big brands can engender community spirit.
