EASTER BINGO BONANZA HELPS SCHOOL RAISE MONEY
26/03/2007

With the aim of raising money for the school, Tonge Moor Primary School's parent-teacher association (PTA) held a bingo session for parents, children and teachers, something that proved to be a winner.

While a number of the guests could be regulars at playing online bingo from the comfort of their homes, they decided to pit their bingo brains against other fans at the school, raising approximately £200 in the process.

"We had around 82 people turn up. We had a lot of activities going on for them to take part in and the children came in their Easter bonnets," said class teacher Holly Chaffe, according to the Bolton News.

Bingo often proves a popular fund-raising activity and on this instance it was joined by those other charity regulars - raffles and lucky dips.

Last week, Driffield Today reported on a similar event organised by Driffield Rotary Club, which saw more than 100 people turn out for a game of bingo.
