UK ONLINE BINGO \'LEAST ADDICTIVE FORM OF GAMBLING
04/04/2007

Figures from problem gambling service GamCare show that games of chance, such as uk bingo, are cited as the cause of addiction by a relatively small percentage of its customers.

Meanwhile, UK online bingo is even less problematic than its land-based counterpart, accounting for less than one in 100 (0.6 per cent) gambling addictions.

Dan Smyth, managing director of gaming operator the Better Bingo Network, said: "It is reassuring to see that generally the levels of addiction and problem gaming among the uk bingo demographic is relatively low."

While 2.7 per cent of respondents suggested that land-based bingo had become a habitual problem for them, the game still ranked as one of the least likely to cause financial or social hardship.

Customers of UK online bingo site Bingonanza are advised to play responsibly, while the website notes that GamCare "has become the leading authority on the provision of information, advice and practical help" for bingo enthusiasts.
