US BINGO SALARIES UP 2.5 PER CENT
11/04/2007

A report from benefits survey company WageWatch found an average increase of 2.5 per cent in wages for staff such as bingo callers, slot technicians and card dealers.

Meanwhile, the company's president suggested that additional income earned from tips could mean the true figure is higher than the statistics portray.

Margaret Dyekman, president and chief operating officer of WageWatch, said: "Many casino jobs for which workers are paid hourly also include compensation in the form of gratuities."

"If business is good, hourly workers receiving tips should still be seeing growth in their overall compensation," she added.

WageWatch advises that its surveys are carried out in collaboration with the University of Nevada and are "the only comprehensive online data reports in the industry".
