Players at the Carlton UK Bingo hall in Whitley Bay marked the establishment's 150,000th game.
Meanwhile, one of the players, Peggy Stocks, was presented with a bouquet of flowers in honour of her 94th birthday.
Mayor John Harrison made the presentation, as well as helping out by calling a number of balls in the afternoon session on Saturday, April 28th.
"Calling Carlton Bingo's 150,000th house was harder than I thought it was going to be," he told the publication.
"Bingo has changed since the last time I played and there was certainly no mention of two fat ladies or two little ducks when I took to the stage."
Plans published in November 2006 call for a £60 million regeneration of the Spanish City site on which the bingo hall stands.
North Tyneside council recognised that the club has "steadfastly stayed in business and undergone renovation" to maintain its operation on the site.
