The Nobles uk bingo club in Longlands, Middlesbrough, made one 62-year-old bingoer £20,000 richer on the traditionally unlucky Friday, April 13th.

She scooped the prize after completing her card in 45 calls, the fewest among any of the 500 participating clubs.

The lucky bingoer told National Bingo: "I couldn't believe it when it was announced how much I had won.

"I was in utter disbelief - all my family are over the moon for me."

The game operator reveals that a second punter defied the urban legends to claim victory on Friday, April 13th.

A Gala Bingo member in Basingstoke proved lucky, claiming £100,000 in the national game.

But the operating body is yet to reveal whether lightning struck twice for either venue when Friday the 13th came round again in July.
