SCOTLAND SCORES BINGO HAT TRICK
31/07/2007Figures published by the game operator show Glasgow was the destination for 14 national bingo jackpots over the past 12 months.
Its closest rival, Cricklewood, managed only ten - but scooped a larger prize fund overall at over £666,000.
And this is the third year in a row that Scotland has proved lucky, with Dundee and Stirling the previous two winners of the accolade.
Steve Baldwin, spokesperson for the National UK Bingo Game Association, states: "We have had 872 big winners over the past 12 months and they pocketed over £41 million between them.
"Bingo has a huge following in Scotland so we're delighted to see that they have won the title for the third year in a row."
UK online bingo site Bingo Scotland - sometimes called Scotland Bingo - addresses the country's community, with its chat games operated solely by Scottish managers, the website claims.
