LIFELONG BINGO FAN CLAIMS NATIONAL PRIZE
06/08/2007

The £50,000 national prize was recently shared between a Peterborough player and a lifelong bingo fan from Springburn near Glasgow.

And the 69-year-old woman explained that her shock at the sum was increased by being in a daze at the prospect of having claimed the £200 house prize.

"I still can't believe it," she told game operator National Bingo.

"In fact I didn't even realise I had won the national [jackpot] as well because I was still in a dream after learning I'd won the house prize."

She added that the win follows a lifetime of enjoying the game, having taken to bingo as soon as she was "old enough to play".

The Gala Bingo club where the win was made has proved lucky in recent months, scooping the £100,000 jackpot in May.
