NURSING SKILLS USED BY BINGO WINNER
22/08/2007Joan Jackson, senior staff nurse at the University Hospital of Wales, became a six-figure bingo winner recently.
She had arranged a night out at the local Gala Bingo hall in honour of a colleague who was leaving to have a baby.
But it was Joan who ended up celebrating after securing the £100,000 national jackpot.
The lucky punter told National Bingo how she put her training into action as the win was announced.
"When I realised I had won I knew I had to keep calm or I'd have a heart attack," she explained to the game operator.
"All my nursing skills came to the fore and I kept myself cool, calm and collected."
National Bingo notes the game's contributions to Wales over the years - with Catherine Zeta Jones' stage school training paid for using her dad's bingo winnings.
