And for the woman, who has "never even had as much as £1,000", the shock of the win proved overwhelming.
"My boyfriend was very excited when I told him but I was just completely overwhelmed," she told the game operator.
"In fact, I was too shocked to get my usual bus home so I got a taxi and gave the driver a £15 tip!"
She is now to celebrate with a week in Blackpool for the whole family - the first holiday she will ever have taken, according to the lucky bingoer.
The national jackpot was claimed by a player at the Mecca Bingo club on May 22nd for a £20,000 win and a lucky seven times throughout 2006, National Bingo states.
