For one 34-year-old Southend player, an equal share in the £50,000 national prize is expected to bring some festive cheer in the run-up to Christmas.
But the lucky bingo winner tells operating body National Bingo that she had to double-check she had won to make sure it was not a dream.
"I was very, very shocked to win - you never think that something like that will ever happen to you," she explains.
"In fact, I phoned my friend the next day to check that I had won."
The winner reveals she has played uk bingo about twice a week for the past two years after attending the Greyhound Shopping Centre Mecca Bingo club for a friend's birthday.
Southend has seen renewed winning form since June, when a roof cave-in saw one participant scoop £100,000 on the human-operated game as her usual electronic machines were out of order.
