BIRTHDAY BINGO TREAT FOR HULL PLAYER
20/09/2007The Mecca Bingo club in Anlaby Road, Hull, has one member who has played the game for 40 years, she tells National Bingo.
And following her recent 83rd birthday, the wait paid off as she claimed a £20,000 national jackpot.
The great-grandmother was accompanied by her 33-year-old granddaughter, who is now to share in the prize, she advises the game's operating body.
"I will be giving all the family money for Christmas this year," she comments to National Bingo.
"I have a nice flat and want two new settees, so that is top of the list."
The woman is Hull born and bred and lives close to the venue, she reveals.
Players in the city have proved lucky in 2007, with National Bingo figures showing ten winners by the end of May, including seven at the Mecca Bingo club.
