Following some 30 years as a fan of the game, a 77-year-old grandmother from Alexandria scooped £45,000 recently, National Bingo reports.

And she told the game's operating body of her joy at recouping the money she has spent on uk bingo tickets over the years.

"I am so pleased to have got all my money back at last," she stated.

Her plans for how to spend the money include new railings around her front garden, to match those put in place by her neighbours.

But her four children and six grandchildren could have other ideas, she revealed.

"They have got it all spent for me," she revealed to National Bingo.

The association explains that about 500 clubs nationwide link together for the national game, which is played every day except Christmas Day.
