BINGO WINNER GETS THE HUMP
08/10/2007UK bingo fan Fred Payne really had the hump recently - but not because of the size of his prize, reports the game's operating body.
Instead, the man's wife suggests that their toy camel might be responsible for the success.
"I've been taking my lucky camel to bingo for eight years and it's finally paid off," Marina Payne tells National Bingo.
"He always sits on the edge of the table facing the door because we want to be taking money through the door."
The win came on Wednesday, October 3rd as Mr Payne matched all the numbers on his full house in 45 calls.
Of some 500 clubs taking part across the country, nobody else achieved the feat in fewer balls.
National Bingo claims that one in 20 men and one in ten women play bingo on a regular basis.
