STIFF DRINK FOR BINGO WINNER
15/10/2007Following a £25,000 national jackpot win, the victor needed a drink to calm her nerves.
She told game operator National Bingo: "I was very shocked when I was told I had won - I had to have a stiff brandy!"
The winner and a friend are now to go on a cruise or holiday to Las Vegas together, she added.
A promise made by the two long-term bingo pals means the jackpot is to be shared between the two.
Success was secured in 44 balls at the Gala Bingo club in George Street, Wakefield - with the house prize of £50 added to the total.
Early 2007 saw a string of victories for members of the club, with five winners in the first four months.
A trio of these, with prizes totalling more than £57,000, occurred in January, National Bingo figures show.
