BABY HELPS COUPLE TO BINGO SUCCESS
17/10/2007While being six months pregnant meant they couldn't go far from home, bingo offered the perfect opportunity for one couple, they tell National Bingo.
And they soon had a new reason to celebrate, claiming a £50,000 jackpot at the Mecca Bingo club in Oldbury.
They plan to spend the winnings on treats for the baby and a new kitchen, as they have just moved house, they inform the operating body.
"My wife wanted to go out but didn't want to go too far because she is pregnant, so she persuaded me to go to the Mecca," the 38-year-old winner explains.
With one mouth to feed already, the win has "come at a good time", he adds.
The Oldbury Mecca Bingo club has met with considerable success in the national game in the past.
In 2006, it ranked 8th in the top ten luckiest locations, according to National UK Bingo, with total earnings for its members of £438,246.
