SURPRISE FOR RESOLUTE BINGOER
17/10/2007An 81-year-old Birkenhead great-grandmother became the recipient of a recent national jackpot to the value of £10,000.
Despite being a long-term fan of the game, she tells the operating body of her surprise.
"I couldn't believe it when I was told I had won - you never think that anything like this will happen to you," she informs National Bingo.
"Everybody in the club was made up for me."
The victory was secured at the Mecca Bingo club in the Europa Centre, Birkenhead - and adds to the total amount won by local players.
Nearly £100,000 was scooped over the course of 2005 at Mecca Bingo venues in the town, with a further £185,000 claimed during 2006.
And 2007 got underway with a £10,000 win on January 18th, National Bingo figures reveal.
